Open Heart . . . Open Hands . . .
We each have a unique set of fingerprints, but there are only two kinds of hands. What kind do you have?
The closed hand is a fearful response to a world that grows more uncertain each day. It seeks to hold on to what it has. It’s unwilling to trust. A closed hand isolates us from others and makes it hard to receive God’s grace. A closed hand is turned in on itself and misses the chance to help and heal.
In contrast, the open hand reaches out so that God’s blessings in our lives can become grace and compassion to others. We are a church committed to the power of the open hand, striving to abandon the false security of “things” and embrace the life-changing power of God’s promise. The open hand is one of the strongest statements of faith and trust a person can make.
When we open our hands together we create a circle of hope and love
Each of us, whether a member or friend of FPCL, are connected to one another. Yet how we choose to live out our commitment is a very personal and individual decision. Each day we renew our own love and commitment to God through our prayers and our actions, and choose to respond to God’s love and grace with our lives. Part of that commitment is our choice to financially support our church. The ability of our ministries and those of the organizations we support depend on each of us taking seriously our stewardship and faith. Our ministries are counting on you! So, take a moment and think about your hands. Are they open or closed?
We open our hands to give . . . We use our hands to serve . . .
